Another Month, Another Update!
Well it's been a month since I updated last, gosh time flies, it feels like I just posted yesterday! Hawaii is, well, just rad! A lot of beauty that I have to remember not to take for granted. We've been busy enjoying this massive open land. We have met some new friends and that has been fun getting together for play dates. So thankful for that, as most of you know I am quite a social person, I can't help but book myself solid most days of the week! I have missed the social aspect of life the last few months, but we're getting there. The dramatic change has helped me remember that being too busy is not a good thing. I really need to take the downtime to develop my relationship with God, enjoy my family, and find some pleasure in the simple things.
So, with that being said, I took up sewing! I know, never in a million years would I have imagined I'd be sewing either. But I love it! It's fulfilling making something homemade that's one of a kind! I've also been busy researching what homeschool program we are going for this next school year. I went with Sonlight Christian Homeschool, I am excited about starting Kai in pre-K! He loves to learn and I love watching him learn. Such a cool thing being able to be a mom and teacher! Super trying on my patience, but way worth it. The challenge keeps it interesting.
With all these projects going on, I am SO happy to say that we have found a house! We move in next week and we can't even wait. We have been looking at houses here since December, and while there are a lot of options, nothing really jumped out at us for our "forever" home. We most likely plan on building at this point, but knew that will take forever, so we are going to rent for a bit. With baby boy coming in October, we are ready to get things set up for his arrival and the get the boys adjusted to the new space. We were so blessed to have been in the right spot at the right time. A house down the street from my parents became unexpectedly available for rent. It just so happens to be a massive, beautiful, custom built home! With four big rooms, three full baths, a bonus room and a full wrap around porch on an acre of land. We were so IN! We are more then doubling the space that we moved from in Cali, so I'm excited to spread out a bit, while reminding ourselves we won't be buying anything nearly that big when the time comes. Ah, to be a millionaire! It will be so nice to have a play area for the boys, a craft space for me and a school room! Can't wait to get our stuff out of storage and get settled. Im sure my parents are excited to get their house back again. ;) It will be great to be so close to them when the new baby comes, juggling three boys scares me a bit.
All is well with the new little one. Listen to this--- I am high-risk due to complications in my first pregnancy. Old news. I see a specialist on top of my regular OB, standard stuff for high-risk. Well, the difference between OC and BI? My specialist is in Honolulu, as in Honolulu, Oahu, as in a plane flight away! I see him next week and get to fly over there for our appointment. He does come to this Island once a month so most of the time I will get to see him here, but for this big work up it has to be done with all his high tech equipment and resources. Cool in someways, terrifying in others. Rural medicine at it's finest!
We'll update more once we move, I'm sure with a ton of pictures of our new place. We expect to get lots of visitors now that we have so much space! :)
