God Bless Our Home!

Exciting news in the Riley world... we bought our first home!! After a year and some months of searching, researching, praying and waiting (as patiently as we could) we found the perfect home for our trio! We originally went into this process thinking we really wanted to live in Ladera Ranch, which is a great neighborhood with a lot of young children and families etc. But the Mellaroo's and the outrageous HOA's turned our eyes a little north to the wonderful city of Mission Viejo. We found a great house! Here are the stats:

*3 beds, 2 baths

*1600 square feet

*Master bedroom bonus retreat (we LOVE this!)

*Big backyard- with concrete and grass, leaves us lots of room for a garden or a play set or a pool!

*Awesome park at one end of street with a sports field, playground and half basketball court and at the other end of the street a huge green belt! Kai will be in his glory here!

We have big plans for our home...

*Chad's plans:

-Backyard- he wants a garden and he wants to build a patio cover. He also is looking forward to building Kai an awesome playground/fort!

-Garage- MAN CAVE! I don't even know or want to know what is going to happen to that place, that is his spot and he can do whatever he wants with it.

-Front patio- Gate it in with a nice wood door.

*Rachel's plans:

-Kitchen- redo the entire thing, new cabinets and possibly add an island or a breakfast bar. (We have new appliances that came with the home, yippee!)

-Backyard- I'm pushing for an above ground spa! We'll see if I get my way in a year or so.

-Overall decorating- We painted our room and Kai's room so now we just have to work on getting certain pieces we need to complete our home. We are going for a beach, pottery barn feel, kind of like a New England beach look, with distressed woods, tans, blues and browns.

Those are a few things on our "wishlist (more like Honey-do list. We are very excited to get started on things, we know it will take us years to do everything we want to do but that is the exciting part of being a homeowner. We'll post more pictures asap!
