Half Way to 2!

Oh how I love my little Lijey.  He is such an angel, an angel with sass I should say.  I can't believe my baby is 18 months old.  Where does the time go?! He is such a joy to Chad and I.  So easy going and laid back and loves to be dirty and messy.  He will literally find the 1% chance anywhere he is to get messy and go for it.  I love it, he is definitely all boy.  He keeps us all on our toes.  He is an eater, and although he can be picky at times he is pretty good about eating a well rounded healthy meal.  He enjoys so much just being outside, whether we are at the park, beach or in our own backyard.  We can't wait to go camping again soon because he just loves being wild and free and running around with his bro enjoying nature.  He just got his first haircut because the top of his hair is so straight and was in his eyes causing him to run into things.  Poor boy, we waited as long as possible to see if it would curl like brothers but so far only the back of his head has a wave.  No ringlets like Kai.  But that's ok, I love that he is turning into his own person.  He still loves to snuggle Dad every chance he gets but is really enjoying running around with Kai and his buddies. He is such a polite boy, reminding all of us to say "Peas" and "Dank Do" when we want something done.  He also likes to say "open it" a lot, but he is learning to follow that with peas. :) His vocabulary grows each day, he basically tries any word or phrase we throw at him, some are executed better then others. :) I absolutely love being home with my boys 6 days a week. I wouldn't change it for the world.  Although it's definitely not the easiest thing I have ever done, I see the benefit all the time.  It makes me laugh when people say that putting your kids in daycare will develop their social skills.  Meaning that if they aren't in daycare they won't want anyone but their parents.  That is so not true with our kids, especially Elijah.  He loves strangers and loves exploring new people.  Which scares me a little but also gives me encouragement that I am doing the right thing by staying home with them and teaching them through day to day experiences. We try our hardest not to spoil them and coddle them, they have to go through the aches and pains to feel the relief of safety and rest. I really look forward to watching him grow this next half of the year... I can't believe we will soon be approaching 2! Yikes.  Not sure how we will manage with a two and three year old, but we will hit that roadblock in 6 month. :) Thanks for being such a great boy Lijey and bringing Daddy and I so many smiles, laughs and shock and awe moments. :) We Love you big boy!

Here I am looking at my sweet Elijah for the first time.  I love that Chad caught this moment on camera!
