Spring Time
Spring is in the air! I love this time of year, everything begins to bloom again, the days are warm and the nights are cool. The birds are out in full force and summer is around the corner! We are having a great time planting flowers and seeds. My kitchen is full of indoor seedlings, it looks more like a greenhouse then a kitchen. Chad comes home to more and more of a mess everyday with my veggie garden project. Luckily, he is an awesome guy and only rolls his eyes a couple times a day at me. :) Our backyard is coming along nicely, tomorrow they are putting in sprinklers, planters, and making my garden area. The week after that we get our new sod and we will be ready to enjoy! I love planting my own veggies and fruit, it seems like the cheapest, most organic way to go. It's definietly become a hobby of mine of the past year or so, and I am stoked that I am finally able to get the ball moving.
All is well with the boys, Kai is almost 2 and half!!!! Insane! We are looking at preschools for him for the fall. He is super excited to start going to school, we know it will be great for him. He loves playing with other kids and he loves learning new things. Elijah is 8 months old, and just as sweet as ever. He LOVES Kai. He literally lives his life to see that boy. He just wants to be right next to him, playing alongside of him or at least watching him play. He is getting to an interactive stage which we are all enjoying. Bathtime is the boys' favorite. It's a chance for Elijah to get Kai to stay confined in the bath to play with him. He is a very talkative baby, thanks to his brother. He says Dada to everything, and Baba to somethings and Mama only on occasion. He makes me work for it and usually right before bed he calls out mamamamamama. He also enjoys screaming at the top of his lungs, he screams and then giggles as if he is proud of the noise he just made. I am so incredibly in love with my family! I love the friendship that I already see my babies creating. Malakai looks out for Elijah almost better then I do somedays. He is such a caregiver, I love that about him. I feel blessed that God gave me these guys and at the times that he gave them to me. I was so worried about them being too close in age and really, it's the perfect age difference for our family.
As Easter approaches in a couple of days, I am reminded how important it is to share the true meaning of Easter with my boys. Kai is beginning to grasp the concept of "Jesus saved us". He told me yesterday that he wants to go "Up there" (to heaven) with Mama, not down there. I have never spoke to him about "down there" before, so I was pretty shocked when he said that. It made me take a step back and realize how much he wants to learn about God and understand these things that I know he feels in his heart.
Have a Happy Easter to you all! We hope it is a wonderful time full of relaxation and most importantly, a time of reverence to the One who gives us life!
