The Riley Household Lately

Time for a little update on what's up in The Riley home...

Malakai is a year and a half! He is growing and developing so fast... I am blown away by how fast time is flying.  He is the absolute most loving child I have ever been around.  He loves being home with Mama and Dada.  Bringing me to the next update, I am officially on medical disability, as of 23 weeks.  I was having a lot of contractions, cramping, problems with my SI joint and sciatic pain and both of my doctors told me it was time to give it up and let my body rest.  I miss working, keeping my mind sharp and being around all my lovely coworkers, but this is what's best for me and the baby at this point so there's really no arguing that.  Malakai is in his glory! He hasn't had his Mama home with him full time since he was 4 months old!  He is loving our routine and I'm afraid to say has grown super attached to Mama.  Not the best timing for him to be my little shadow but I can't say I'm not loving spending all day everyday cuddling and loving on my little bubba.  I'm definitely getting a feel for what being a stay at home mom is like.  The last three weeks I was supposed to be resting but come on, no rest for a Mama with an active toddler.  My doctor's know that and remind me every time I see them to take it as easy as possible.

As for the doctor appointments... I'm going once a week now.  We are looking at the baby every time via ultrasound, doing blood work and Non-stress tests.  It's quite a commitment and a lot of testing each time we go but I feel so confident in my medical care.  If anything starts to go sideways with my pregnancy it will be caught right away this time and that makes Chad and I really happy.  I'm trying my hardest to not worry about what is to come, I don't really like remembering the last week of my pregnancy with Kai, it was scary and left us with no definite answers which can be pretty freaky.  We are trusting in God and just enjoying the time we have left as a family of three.  It's incredible how much peace God can give you when you just ask!

Malakai helped us pick his baby brother's name, it was the only one he could say so we figured it was a good one.  We are going to be revealing the name when our little man gets here.  Which should be around the 15th of July.  My Doctors are not letting me go past 38 weeks.  Which means 11 weeks left of this pregnancy! Wow! It goes by so fast the second time. Can't wait to meet our little angel and welcome him into our family.  Next step... getting everything ready for baby.  Not looking forward to that project but I know we will be excited when it is all set up!

That's all for now!
XOXO
