Our Family is Growing... Again!!

We did it again!  Baby #2 is on its way to us and is due sometime in July.  We couldn't be more excited and surprised at the same time!  We always wanted to have our children close together but boy we didn't think it would happen THIS fast.  The age difference between Kai and his little bro/sis will be 21 months.  Two babies under the age of 2- at 25 years old! (Chad will be 27). Wow. Breath, Rach, just Breath! That's what I've been telling myself a lot lately! Time is going so incredibly fast.  My baby is 14.5 months! Yikes! He is such a bundle of joy, and so energetic.  Literally, the kid runs all day long! Even the ladies at the nursery at church tell us out of all the kids he is the most active.  As I type, he is running around behind me trying to get to the keyboard to bang on it while attempting to pull everything off the desk.  Gotta love it! Really, we do love it.  Chad and I tell each other every night how blessed we are to have such a sweet baby boy in our life.  He makes the world so much better, much more fun! Christmas this year... you can only imagine how fun that was.  Seeing Christmas through the eyes of a one year old, was, well, pretty fabulous.  We look forward to next year when Kai is 2 and the new baby is 5 months.  Now that's going to be a party!

Which brings me to the new baby.  I am about 9 weeks 4 days pregnant.  This pregnancy is more or less the same as the first in that, Yes, I have "morning sickness" which is more like "all day sickness" and Yes, I am exhausted all the time.  But this time, I don't get the luxury of spending my time home from work resting and napping and lounging.  I feel so much more tired this time around because of this little ball of energy I chase around all day.  Needless to say I look forward to the weekends when Chad is home to help me out.  This pregnancy is also a little different in that I am considered "High-Risk".  I had some issues at the very end of my pregnancy with Malakai that were similar to that of a TIA or "mini-stroke".  I am being followed by my OB GYN as well as a specialist.  We still don't know a definitive answer as to what may be wrong with me but the great thing about this is that it is something to do with me, not the baby.  They will monitor the baby very closely but expect me to have another perfectly healthy baby come this July.  So double the Doctor's visits (quadruple the price, I suspect) and lots of lab tests, ultrasounds and monitoring.  We are trusting in God and trying not to stress or dwell on the negative.  There is so much to be thankful for.  We would appreciate prayers thrown our way :) You can never have enough of those.

We hope every ones Christmas was fantastic and that you felt the love of God who gave his Son to die for our sins.  What a powerful, humbling thought! Thank you LORD! Merry Christmas and Happy 2012! We know it will be a great one!
