7 1/2 months of FUN!

Well, it has been a few months since the last time I've updated our measly family blog. I have thought about our little virtual newsletter a few times in the past couple months, but each time I go to update, life gets in the way. Oh, you know, the normal things, work, family, friends, raising a SEVEN-AND-A-HALF-MONTH-OLD!! That's right, Malakai is 7.5 months old now! Wow! Time fliiieeeeeessssss by! He is growing so fast and does something new and exciting each day. I don't often get "sad" about him growing up so fast until I look back on pictures or previous posts and think to myself, was he really THAT small?!?! He is an absolute love, the most thoughtful, sweet, happy boy I have ever seen (I'm biased, so what?! :) ) Here is our little family on Easter, where we spent the week at the beach house... Kai experienced his first "sand-between-the-toes" moment and really couldn't get enough. He kept trying to sit down and, shockingly, eat the sand. Everything goes in his mouth these days, he discovers his world first by sight, then by taste.

Here we all are at Chad's company picnic at D-land. They hosted a picnic, had several disney characters available for pictures and bought everyone tickets to the parks. Chad is blessed to work for such an awesome company. We are very proud of Dada!

It's hard to tell here but Kai is having a complete belly laugh with these guys. He is used to watching them on TV and his eyes lit up seeing them in person. So sweet.

Our little baseball boy, he takes his bat everywhere with him and loves to hit the ball (and anything else in sight) with his red bat while of course getting Mommy and Daddy's approval and praise.

It has been such a joy living life with Malakai in it. He breaths fresh life into everyday and makes the world so much more colorful! He sleeps through the night, still nurses, loves eating solid foods that Mama makes homemade for him. He sits up, crawls, talks all the time saying Mama, Baba and a new word this week- Dada :). Chad is very pleased about this although he hasn't heard it in person, Kai is a stubborn boy and only says it when he is out of the room (that's Mama's boy!) The best part of this whole parenting deal is the fact that I look forward to everyday. I know it's going to be a fun filled day with my son and Chad and I both love watching him experience new things. I do not think there is a day that goes by that Chad and I don't look at each other and say, "We are so blessed." Our hearts are so full! If someone would have told me this is what it's like to be a parent, I would have started years ago (only kidding Mom and Dad ;) ). I will hopefully post sooner then last time, we will be going to Costa Rica the end of June and I can only imagine the stories and adventures we will have to share after that trip...

Mama Riley- over and out!
